Venice: The Consortium has slated a protest against Dark Money on Monday, but isn’t this a bit hypocritical?
by Francesco Abbruzzino, The Scoop News
The “Consortium” is holding a protest on Monday at 4, protesting “Dark Money”. This is fine and the amount of money flowing into the Venice elections is concerning. However, since the “Consortium” is taking in money and support from the members of the various special interest groups and the Democratic Party, isn’t this a bit hypocritical? I get that “Dark Money” is spending a ton of money and so it is getting a lot more attention, but I am not sure what the difference is between that and the “Consortium’s” actions.
Also, they name three candidates that my research indicates are not tied to the the mailings that have triggered this protest, even though they appear to be helping their campaigns. I have found that individuals responsible for the mailings are the individuals that want to ensure that their candidates are elected into office. So, not sure why they are protesting the candidates, versus the source of the “Dark Money”. They do name Eric Robinson, but what if he was not involved, despite his “Dark Money” history? Now, I believe I know who is making the call on the flyers, but there is no proof, so without it I will not disclose their names like the “Consortium” has with Eric.
Also, keep in mind that the flyers are not putting out lies, as of today (10.10.19). From what i have seen, they have actual quotes and they provide the source. Some of the sources I have seen and heard. The main person had no problem making the statements, so I am not sure why he is so upset that his thoughts are getting picked up and widely shared. I mean isn’t that what he was trying to achieve when he stated many of the comments on his podcast?
The information on their protest is below. I do not plan on live streaming it because of the hypocrisy involved, even though some have lectured me that I should not be calling the “Consortium” out because it will help my campaign. Sorry, to me it is about maintaining my integrity. 😊
