UPDATE: Single-stream recycling rollout and where you can drop off the old recycling bins in the City of Venice

City of Venice

The rollout of the City of Venice’s new single-stream recycling carts is almost complete! (Please see attached photos.) There are just a few City neighborhoods left and they should all be delivered by this Friday, Jan. 17.

A reminder to residents, you may either keep your old red recycle bins for another use around your house, or you may drop off unwanted bins at 221 S. Seaboard Ave.

Additionally, on Saturday, Jan. 25, there will be three locations throughout the City that will be collecting unwanted red recycling bins from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.:

·         City Fire Station 3, 5300 E. Laurel Rd.

·         Wellfield Park, 1251 Pinebrook Rd.

·         Venice Community Center, 326 S. Nokomis Ave.

Finally, please remember to recycle smart Venice! It is very important that only recyclable items are placed in the new blue carts. Items such as plastic bags, Styrofoam and trash will contaminate our recycling. We appreciate all your help to recycle smart, keeping trash out of our landfills and improving our local environment!
