Sarasota: Search warrant results in arrests & seizure of illegal narcotics and firearms from four teenagers

Four people, one juvenile and three adults, have been arrested following a search warrant that was executed at 1681 22nd Street, Sarasota, on Thursday, February 13, 2020.  The search warrant was obtained following complaints from residents in the area and undercover drug buys.  Per F.S.S. 985.04 (2) (a) 1., information about juveniles charged with felonies is public record.

  • Sas Young, 17, of Sarasota, facing charges of carrying a concealed firearm (felony)
  • Raheem Smith, 27, of Sarasota, facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone)
  • Joshua Pete, 19, of Sarasota, facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a church
  • Shantia Stanford, 50 of Sarasota, facing charges of Sale of Cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church

 

A search of the residence yielded:

  • 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 loaded with extra magazines
  • .45 Cal Taurus handgun fully loaded with round in chamber (located on exterior of residence)
  • Approximately 70 of 7.62mm x 39mm AK47 rounds
  • 20 of 5.56mm x 45mm AR15 rounds
  • Oxycodone – 1.9 grams
  • Marijuana – 1.9 grams
  • 5 unknown blue pills (being tested)
  • 1 baggie unknown powder 4.3 grams (being tested)
  • 55 pieces rock Cocaine – 4.4 grams
