Incident Description
Upon arrival to the lift station on 8-12-2019 @ 10:35 AM it was discovered that the main breaker was turned off. Power was restored. Approx. 3200 gallons spilled from a sanitary sewer structure into a swale on 2535 Colson Ave then into Whitaker Bayou. 1500 gallons recovered. Customers were aware of the discharge on 8/9 but did not notify the County until 8/12/19. AN INDEPENDENT 12 VOLT ALARM CIRCUIT WILL BE INSTALLED SEPARATE OF THE MAIN POWER TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING AGAIN. ESTIMATED TIME OF COMPLETION FOR REPAIRS 8-19-2019. THE AFFECTED AREAS WILL BE LIMED AND SAMPLES WILL BE TAKEN ACCORDING TO PROTOCOL.
