Rob Merlino: Petition · We oppose a shark fishing ban at the Venice fishing pier

The Venice city council is proposing a ban on shark fishing at the Venice fishing pier, a public park within the city of Venice, Florida, in violation of state and local laws. Shark fishing has occurred at the Venice fishing pier since it was erected without any threat to public health, safety or welfare. We, the undersigned, oppose any such ban or any further attempt by the Venice city council to regulate fishing within the Venice city limits. If you care about your constitutionally protected right to lawfully fish in the state of Florida, then you will sign this petition. The power to regulate fisheries lies with the FWC, not the city of Venice.
