About Frankie S. Abbruzzino
I moved to Venice in 1982, just before staring the tenth grade at VHS. Upon graduating, I attended MCC (SCF) for two years. At that time, I married the love of my life and joined the US Navy. While in the Navy, I worked during the day and attended the University of Maryland at night. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Business Management.
Once I finished my four years in the Navy, I decided to take an honorable discharge and moved back to Florida. After trying out a few jobs, I found my calling working in sales at GTE. I excelled and became one of the top outside sales reps within Florida. That led me into management of the wireless outside sales team in Pinellas County and eventually managing an outside sales team for ILEC, CLEC, and wireless.
Twenty years ago, I started Telfonix and have been running my medical billing company ever since. I lived with my family for about a year in Italia and then we decided to move back to the US. We ended up in Venice, where my two daughters went to school at Venice Elementary, SLA, and then VHS. My youngest daughter graduates from VHS this year and my oldest daughter graduated two years early from USF, with a BS in Public Health.
My time nowadays is spent writing articles for The Scoop, running my company, and living life.
If you follow me on The Scoop, you know I follow politics throughout the county. I am very familiar with the politics that impact the City of Venice and outside of the Council Members and Mayor, may be one of the more informed residents within he city, when it comes to the politics of our town.
